Hygiene 101: smell good and feel clean all day

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the importance of personal hygiene. But fear not, as we embark on a journey to rediscover the art of self-care and cleanliness. From head to toe, let's explore effective practices to not only maintain good hygiene but also leave you smelling amazing.

1. Detoxifying the Armpits: A Fresh Start

Begin your hygiene ritual by detoxifying your armpits. A simple mixture of apple cider vinegar and water or clay can work wonders. Apply it to your armpits, let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinse. This helps eliminate impurities and prepares your pits for a good deodorant. This will avoid you smelling funky out of nowhere which can be very embarassing and make you self concious .Also, hair keep smells on it so make sure to shave your underarms so it doesn't keep the sweaty smell!

2. Witch Hazel Wonders: A Gentle Touch

Witch hazel, known for its natural astringent properties, is a fantastic addition to your armpit care routine. Apply it with a cotton pad to cleanse, tone, and soothe the skin. It's a gentle yet effective way to keep your underarms feeling fresh. You can also use it behind your ears and between your buttcheeks to stay 100% fresh and clean. Which leads us to our next point..

3. Behind the Ears and Between the Cheeks: Often Overlooked Spots

Don't forget the less-visible areas. Use a gentle, fragrance-free soap to clean behind your ears and between your buttocks. Thorough cleaning in these areas not only ensures freshness but also prevents unwanted odors. Please do not overlook those parts like most people do because it can really start smelling funky if you don't clean those areas! Also you should be cleaning the outside part of your ears, you may have heard that ears can clean themselves alone but it's only for the inside! It is your responsability to clean the outside part so please at least once a week clean it.

4. The Art of Showering: A Double-Cleansing Experience

Elevate your shower routine by double-cleansing . Start with a good, unscented soap to cleanse really well, then switch to a softer soap that smells amazing and is moisturizing. This two-step process will make you both super clean and a smelling amazing. You will make heads turn! If you can match your body cream with your soap it's even better, people will wonder "omg who is smelling so good in here?"

5. Hair Washing 101: Strike the Right Balance

Wash your hair every three days, doubling down on cleanliness. Begin by putting the shampoo in your hand and take it to place in strategic place: on the top front of your head, on the top back, on the sides and then place what's left in the back of your head and then massage your whole scalp with your fingertips. It's the scalp who produces sebum so it'sthe scalp you have to wash, not your whole hair lenght. Really clean your scalp well then rinse and wash it again with less shampoo this time. Don't be too rough so you don't irritate your scalp because if it's irritated it will produce more oil in response. Double cleansing your hair will make sure that there is no build up and that it stays fresh for longer and so you will have to wash less often which is exactly what we want for good hair health! This routine keeps your hair healthy, fresh, and smelling clean. To make your hair smelling even better you can use a hair perfume.

6. Internal Deodorant: The Chlorophyll Boost

Consider chlorophyll as your internal deodorant. Consuming chlorophyll-rich foods like leafy greens can neutralize body odors from within, giving you a natural and refreshing scent. You can also take it as a supplement that you put in your water. Don't be scared if your number 2 becomes green, it's normal!

7. Happy Feet, Happy You: Foot Hygiene Matters

For happy feet, keep toenails short and clean. Wash your feet and between your toes diligently in the shower. NO, just letting soapy water run on them is NOT enough!! Consider a weekly foot buffing session to remove dead skin, leaving your feet smooth and revitalized. And don't forget to dry your feet with a towel like the rest of your body! It is super important because do you know what LOVES humid area? Fungus! And if you aim to smell amazing you absolutely don't want fungus believe me!! If it's already too late it's alright don't panick I got your back! You can use this product or if your budget is tight I understand, you can use tea tree oil, less effective but it works! If you want to level up your foot care even more I highly recommend putting a thick cream on your feet and putting socks over it for 3-4h or even overnight if you don't mind sleeping with socks on.

8. Sunday Self-Care Session: A Weekly Ritual

Designate a day, for exemple Sundays, for a self-care day where you do all the things that have to be done weekly. This can include a clay mask, manicure, pedicure, shaving,... Make it a ritual to indulge in these practices so you can be fresh and well groomed the rest of the week without worrying about it. Plus, a self care rest day is amazing for your mental health and so you can get your energy recharged to be productive the other days of the week.

9. Silky Smooth Shaving: A Razor-Sharp Routine

Avoid razor bumps with a few smart shaving practices. Use a relatively fresh razor, soak your legs in warm water before shaving, and exfoliate with a mix of olive oil and sugar. What I do is I use hair conditioner instead of soap to shave, I find it to be more smooth and soft, and I finish with a hydrating combo of baby oil and body cream. You will get silky smooth baby soft legs with this routine trust me! And for shaving... down there... Shave in the way of the hair and not against it! It's really important if you don't want ingrow hair. Oh! Also another feminine hygiene tips is washing down there with a gentle face soap. I personally use the cerave one and it works wonders but only wash the outside parts! You should NEVER go in there with soap! NEVER! Unless you want a yeast infection.

10. Shower Accessories: Lather Up with Luxury

Upgrade your shower with an African shower net or a loofah. These accessories not only enhance lathering but also provide a gentle exfoliation, leaving your skin feeling super smooth and deep cleaned. I currently use a loofah but I'm thinking about buying an african shower net to improve my shower routine. Now once you get out of the shower all nice and clean, DO NOT dry yourself with a funky smelling dirty towel! You want to dry yourself with a clean, fresh, dry towel that hasn't been lying around your bathroom for ages. I'm not telling you to change your towel every single use but at least every 3 days especially for your face towel if you don't want to break out! But if your towel smell bad please change it! It's common sense. Also don't wear the same clothes all week, your body sweats in these clothes so you have to change them regularly. To avoid you towel smelling, let it dry well after you use it instead of just letting it in a messy ball. Shower at least once a day but I personally shower in the morning after working out and in the evening before going to bed.

11. Oral Hygiene: A Bright Smile Completes the Picture

Don't overlook your oral health. Brush your teeth twice a day, use a tongue scraper, and incorporate mouthwash and flossing into your routine. A bright smile enhances your overall freshness and confidence and a bad breath has the power to make you go from a 10 to a 4 instantly trust me! If you want to level up your oral health even more, you can try this product
